Forest Man Of India

Jhadav Payeng whose name maybe remain anonymous among Society is a prominent personality who led the initiative of saving trees and wildlife of India. 
He is also known as the Forest Man Of India. 
At just the Mere age of 16 , Payeng led a initiative of planting a tree sapling a day seeing the ecological condition and deteriorating environment conditions. As he grew, he become more enthusiastic and zealous towards converting barren land into lush green forest and by just planting tree he converted 550 acres of land into lush green forest.
Being a resident of Assam , he became despondent and dismayed over the fact that his own land majuli was turning into a desert and barren land. It was at this moment he got a courage to come forward and take a stand to transform this barren land into green cover.
Talking about his social life, he got a lot of recognition in and around world including India and was awarded with Padma Shri.
Currently he Collab with number of NGOs and organise workshop, seminars ,etc for awareness.
As per the current report, he is going on a mission - to restore Mexico wood's and make it a greener country. 
Jadhav Payeng and NGO foundation Azetca entered into a collaboration agreement last year to plant 7 million tress in Mexico.
After the Indian forestry worker and environmentalists Payeng , the Molai forest bear's his name. The forest was solely maintained by Payeng for over 30 years and presently cover an area of about 1360 acres.
In 2012, A documentry was made on the same and was also screened at Jawaharlal Nehru University . Additionally Molai forest was depicted in the 2013 Documentaries - "Foresting Life and Forest Man" by Willam Douglas and Aarti Shrivastava respectively.
