Hlo Eco-warriors 😊, today we are going to discuss about a new monster 💀 with whom we have a future battle . Yes you read it  right!  E-WASTE MONSTER 💀 who is getting stronger day by day . Hence , there is an urgency of E-WASTE MANAGEMENT.

Let's get to know..... who is the E-WASTE MONSTER?
E-waste refers to electronic waste, which includes discarded electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, televisions, and other electronic equipment. With the rapid advancement of technology and the increasing use of electronic devices worldwide, the volume of e-waste generated has been escalating significantly.

Here are some impacts of E- WASTE :-

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT : E-waste contains hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and flame-retardant chemicals. When improperly disposed of or incinerated, these toxic materials can contaminate the air, soil, and water, posing severe risks to human health and the environment. The proper management and recycling of e-waste are essential to prevent pollution and minimize the release of harmful substances.


Health and Social Impacts: The improper handling of e-waste can have severe health consequences for communities living near e-waste disposal sites or engaging in informal recycling activities. Exposure to toxic substances during e-waste dismantling, recycling, and disposal processes can lead to respiratory problems, reproductive issues, neurological disorders, and other health problems. Implementing appropriate e-waste management practices not only protects the environment but also safeguards the health and well-being of workers and communities.

 

Resource Depletion: Electronics often contain valuable and scarce resources, including precious metals like gold, silver, and copper. By recycling e-waste, these valuable materials can be recovered and reused, reducing the need for mining and extraction of new resources. Effective e-waste management helps conserve resources, reduce energy consumption, and minimize the environmental impact of raw material extraction.

THE WAY TO DEFEAT THE MONSTER 💀:

All these makes one  realise the urgent discussion and action on this and efforts are being made globally to address the urgency of e-waste management. These include promoting awareness, implementing effective recycling systems, encouraging sustainable product design, fostering collaboration between governments, industries, and consumers, and supporting research and  innovation in e-waste management technologies.

Forest Man Of India

Jhadav Payeng   whose name maybe remain anonymous among Society is a prominent personality who led the initiative of saving trees and wildlife of India.  He is also known as the  Forest Man Of India.   At just the Mere age of 16 , Payeng led a initiative of planting a tree sapling a day seeing the ecological condition and deteriorating environment conditions. As he grew, he become more enthusiastic and zealous towards converting barren land into lush green forest and by just planting tree he converted 550 acres of land into lush green forest.
